Project Engineer - Mechanical

Airswift is seeking a Project Engineer with a mechanical focus to join a developing engineering team. This role involves delivering innovative solutions within mining and industrial sectors. It is a practical position offering significant involvement in design, manufacturing, and project execution from initial concept through to installation and commissioning. The successful candidate will be instrumental in achieving technical objectives, supporting production efforts, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage engineering projects comprehensively, from design through to installation and commissioning.
- Develop and review 2D/3D models, fabrication drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Adjust designs to comply with project constraints and Australian Standards, including AS4100 and AS/NZS 3000.
- Support manufacturing teams by preparing QA documentation such as ITPs, MDRs, and inspection reports.
- Offer technical direction to internal teams, clients, and suppliers.
- Assist with commissioning, maintenance, and on-site troubleshooting as may be required.
- Monitor project progress to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery.
- Maintain accurate engineering documentation and design records.
What You'll Need:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical design and project engineering.
- Demonstrated proficiency in SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD.
- Proven ability to create and interpret 2D/3D engineering drawings.
- Experience within manufacturing, fabrication, or materials handling systems.
