As a Project Engineer within our Sydney team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting project delivery from the planning stages through to completion. Collaborating closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, subcontractors, and consultants, you will contribute to the smooth operation of documentation, programming, commercial activities, and site coordination. This role presents a significant opportunity to enhance your skills in project delivery, commercial management, and stakeholder coordination, while gaining exposure to complex and engaging projects. You will be supported by SHAPE’s experienced leadership, robust systems, and a collaborative team environment, providing a platform to learn, contribute, and witness the realisation of your work on each project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage project documentation, including RFIs, meeting minutes, and drawing registers.
- Create and update construction programmes using MS Project.
- Support subcontractor administration, encompassing variations and contract documentation.
- Process subcontractor and supplier invoices.
- Assist with cost reporting and cashflow forecasting.
- Maintain clear communication channels with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Update project progress within SHAPE Project Delivery Systems, including JOBPAC and Procore.
What You Will Bring:
You will bring enthusiasm, a keen eye for detail, and a proactive approach to project delivery. You will thrive in a team setting, maintain organisation, and identify practical solutions to navigate shifting priorities. Essential attributes include:
- A trade qualification or a tertiary building degree/diploma.
- Experience in a Project Coordinator, Project Engineer, or similar role within the building industry.
- A strong understanding of head contracts and subcontractor agreements.
- Confidence in interpreting specifications and drawings for accuracy and buildability.
- An understanding of project methodology, programming, and cost reporting.
- The ability to manage competing priorities within a dynamic delivery environment.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with project teams.
