This full-time, onsite position is based in Maddington, Western Australia, with working hours from Monday to Friday.

The Slipform division is seeking a Project Engineer to manage and deliver slipform concrete barrier scopes for Tier 1 and Tier 2 clients throughout Western Australia. This role is crucial for the successful execution of extruded concrete barrier works constructed to Main Roads WA (MRWA) specifications. Responsibilities include overseeing on-site operations, managing internal crews, subcontractors, materials, and plant equipment. Slipform barrier scopes can vary in scale and complexity, often involving multiple projects running concurrently within active road corridors. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the primary objective is to deliver work packages safely, on time, and within budget.

Candidate requirements:

• A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related engineering discipline.
• A minimum of 2 years' experience in civil construction, with demonstrated experience managing slipform or extruded concrete barrier scopes.
• Strong organisational skills and a process-driven approach.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong contractual understanding with demonstrated Tier 1 and Tier 2 client-facing experience.
• Familiarity with MRWA contract frameworks and hold point requirements.
• A proactive approach to identifying innovative solutions to problems.
• Understanding of slipform paving operations and extruded barrier construction is desirable but not essential.
• Working knowledge of MRWA specifications, including QA documentation requirements.

Key responsibilities:

• Planning and scheduling slipform plant, internal crews, and subcontractors to meet programme requirements.
• Delivering projects in alignment with Dowsing's standards of excellence and core values.
• Maintaining a strong client-facing presence with Tier 1 and Tier 2 clients, including attending site meetings, pre-start meetings, and weekly/fortnightly catch-up meetings.
• Managing multiple contracts and projects concurrently.
• Leading internal site teams and subcontractors.
• Assuming sole responsibility for all Quality Assurance (QA) obligations across slipform scopes, including Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), hold point sign-offs, non-conformance management, and final Master Document Register (MDR) submissions to the client.
• Daily cost and production tracking, preparation of progress claims, and financial reporting.
• Supporting a zero-harm safety culture across all slipform operations and road corridor works.
