Job Description

Port Melbourne

Full-time, Onsite

EVSE is a significant provider of smart EV charging solutions, offering a broad spectrum of products and services for residential, commercial, and public charging across Australia and New Zealand. Committed to innovation and sustainability, EVSE is focused on developing a robust charging network to support Australia's transition to electric mobility. Exploren represents Australia's fastest-growing charging network, delivering straightforward charging solutions for electric vehicle drivers at home, at their destinations, and while travelling. Exploren is experiencing rapid expansion to accommodate the burgeoning EV market, ensuring increased access to high-speed charging infrastructure for more drivers, thereby making long-distance and urban travel more accessible.

As Project Manager, you will become part of a lean, agile team, responsible for the complete delivery of Exploren Network Assets projects throughout Victoria. This position holds accountability for the entire project and asset lifecycle, encompassing early project development and planning, through to design, construction, commissioning, and handover.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the planning and delivery phases of Network Asset projects in alignment with the Exploren Project Delivery Process.
  • Prepare project scope of works, specifications, project schedules, and cost estimates.
  • Oversee Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), cost, schedule, and quality parameters associated with project delivery.
  • Supervise site assessments, construction, and commissioning, collaborating directly with contractors and suppliers to resolve design and delivery issues, ensuring technical solutions meet safety, compliance, quality, schedule, and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with Business Development Managers to provide project and technical input for opportunity pipelines, case studies, and tender/marketing collateral.
  • Maintain current knowledge of EVSE product and technology innovations, relevant electrical and EV charging industry standards, and ensure full adherence to all Health, Safety, and Environment requirements across projects and teams.

Qualifications:

We seek an experienced Project Manager with a substantial background in delivering electrical infrastructure projects within large commercial and industrial settings. The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated experience managing complex projects or portfolios and may have a background in the EV charging sector or related industries such as commercial buildings, solar PV, BESS, or HVAC. You should be adept at developing and taking ownership of core project deliverables, including scopes of work, technical specifications, schedules, and cost estimates, to achieve safe, high-quality outcomes.

  • Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or a licensed electrician, with Project Management Professional (PMP) certification desirable.
  • White Card / HSE certification preferred.
  • Solid understanding of capital and infrastructure project management frameworks and principles (PMBOK).
  • Project experience delivering LV power infrastructure (AC and DC systems), with proven capability in hazard identification, risk assessment, and the implementation of effective project risk controls.
  • Hands-on experience with Health & Safety and project management tools (e.g., Safety Culture, Microsoft Project, Airtable, Jira, Confluence).
  • Working knowledge of Australian electricity networks (DNSP/TNSP) and applicable electrical design and safety standards including AS/NZS 3000, 3008, 61439, 3017, and 3760.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across stakeholders, fostering collaboration, building strong customer relationships, and delivering solutions aligned to diverse audience needs.
  • Experience developing or implementing continuous improvement initiatives aligned to quality management systems (ISO 9001).

Why Join Exploren?

  • Work on a live, fast-growing EV charging network at scale.
  • Experience a practical, low-ego culture focused on outcomes and customer impact.
  • Contribute to Australia’s clean energy transition.
  • Benefits include a competitive base salary plus a performance incentive scheme, on-site EV charging/parking, and novated leasing options.
