Recovery Partner

Southern Cross Care WA is seeking a Recovery Partner to join our Community Options program. This role is based in Claremont and operates within three residential mental health houses across Western Australia, providing 24/7 onsite support for adults aged 18-65 experiencing mental health challenges. The program offers a safe, structured, and recovery-focused environment for residents transitioning from long-term hospital care back into the community.

This is a part-time position, requiring 60 hours per fortnight on a rotating roster. You will be part of a compassionate, multidisciplinary team dedicated to empowering residents to build independence, stability, and confidence as they pursue their recovery goals.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Working alongside residents using the recovery approach to help them re-learn or gain new skills for independent community living.
• Collaborating closely with relevant managers, external primary care, and clinical staff.
• Assisting with domestic activities such as cleaning, cooking, and shopping.
• Monitoring and supporting medication management.
• Supporting clients in achieving short-term and long-term recovery goals.
• Helping clients become active community members.
• Identifying opportunities for education, training, and employment.

While qualifications in mental health are highly regarded, we also welcome applicants currently studying in this field and eager to develop their skills. Medication competence training will be provided if needed, and with experience, there is an opportunity to develop into an approved supervisor, expanding your capability and career pathway.

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• A Certificate III in Mental Health, a higher qualification, or equivalent experience.
• Experience working with people experiencing mental health conditions.
• A commitment to facilitating recovery through individualised support services.
• Initiative and comfort working independently.
• Great conversational, influencing, and negotiating skills.
• An ability to plan and problem-solve.
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster.
