Residential Engineer - Intrax Consulting Group

This role is integral to strengthening Intrax's capabilities in the key growth area of medium-density housing. You will contribute to elevating technical standards and shaping the delivery of high-quality residential and low-rise building projects, directly impacting client outcomes, team development, and the ongoing evolution of our building engineering practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, innovative structural designs and documentation for medium to large complexity projects, including architecturally designed homes, townhouse and unit developments, community centres, and gymnasiums.
- Assist with client and stakeholder management across multiple disciplines, fostering strong working relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support account management activities, contributing to client satisfaction and repeat business.
- Assist in mentoring and developing graduate and junior engineers, adhering to Intrax practices and standards.
- Promote a strong client-focused culture within the team, emphasising responsiveness, professionalism, and on-time delivery.
- Gain exposure to more complex work, such as multi-level buildings and light commercial projects, as your capability develops.
What You Bring:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognised tertiary institution.
- 1–3 years of post-graduate structural design experience within the residential or building sector.
- Experience designing residential and low-rise building structures.
- Working knowledge of timber, reinforced concrete, and steel structures, including waffle, raft, and suspended slabs, retaining walls, and associated systems.
- Proficiency with tools such as ClearCalcs, Space Gass, and Toolkit. Inducta and RAPT are desirable.
- A strong understanding of Australian Standards and the National Construction Code (NCC), including AS2870, AS1684, AS1170, AS3600, and AS4100.
- The ability to build rapport with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.
