Pinangba is the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander service delivery arm of UnitingCare, built on cultural identity and strong community relationships. Star of the Sea Elders Village is situated on Thursday Island, offering ocean views and fostering a connection to cultural events and traditions. We are dedicated to empowering Elders and improving health outcomes for Torres Strait Islander communities, caring for the body, spirit, and community wellness.

About the Role: This position prioritises cultural knowledge and community connection. You will collaborate with your front-line team to deliver outstanding, person-centred care to residents, promoting a values-based culture. You will maintain a high standard of quality and compliance, ensuring the facility meets all regulatory requirements through best practice clinical care and audits. Financial sustainability will be driven through community engagement to support occupancy, alongside oversight of property maintenance, hospitality, and lifestyle programs. Working closely with senior clinicians, you will lead nurses, personal carers, and support staff, providing coaching and direction to foster their success. Creativity and enjoyment are encouraged within the team.

Role Requirements:

• A solid background in aged care, with leadership experience in growing and developing similar services focused on quality and person-centred care.
• Demonstrated success in mentoring and coaching frontline leaders, resulting in strong service performance, sound quality outcomes, and care governance.
• Confidence in managing complex and conflicting priorities, pooling resources to meet deadlines.
• A Bachelor of Nursing, or equivalent qualification, OR solid experience in the management of a residential aged care or healthcare service.
• Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients and communities.
• Experience coordinating care provision within a large team.
• Confidence in managing staff, conflict, pressures, and competing priorities.
• Ability to provide leadership, support, and mentorship to other team members.
• Satisfy relevant probity checks required by legislation or organisational policy.
• As Key Personnel, you will be required to meet key suitability criteria and complete additional compliance measures as outlined by the ACQSC and/or the NDIS.

• Sign-on Bonus: $2000
• Retention Bonuses: $27,500 paid in instalments over 24 months.

Remuneration: Competitive Salary + Super + NFP Salary Packaging.
