Pinangba Services is seeking an experienced Residential Service Manager to join the Star of the Sea Elders Village on Thursday Island. This is a permanent, full-time position. Pinangba is the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander service delivery arm of UnitingCare, built on cultural identity and strong community relationships. The Star of the Sea Elders Village, situated on Thursday Island, offers residents a vibrant community life, respecting traditional culture and knowledge through various activities. The role focuses on empowering Elders and improving health outcomes for Torres Strait Islander communities, caring for the body, spirit, and overall community wellness.

About the Role: This position prioritises cultural knowledge and community connection, working with a front-line team to deliver outstanding, person-centred care. You will promote high standards of quality and compliance, ensuring the facility meets all regulatory requirements through best practice clinical care and audits. Financial sustainability will be driven through community engagement to support occupancy, alongside oversight of property maintenance, hospitality, and lifestyle programs. In collaboration with senior clinicians, you will lead a team of nurses, personal carers, and support staff, providing coaching and direction for their success. Creativity and enjoyment are encouraged within the team.

Role Requirements:

• A solid background in aged care, with leadership experience in growing and developing similar services focused on quality and person-centred care.
• Proven ability in mentoring and coaching front-line leaders, resulting in strong service performance, sound quality outcomes, and care governance.
• Confidence in managing complex and conflicting priorities and pooling resources to meet deadlines.
• A Bachelor of Nursing, or equivalent qualification, OR solid experience in the management of a residential aged care or healthcare service.
• Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients and communities.
• Confidence in managing staff, conflict, pressures, and competing priorities.
• Ability to provide leadership, support, and mentorship to other team members.
• Satisfy relevant probity checks required by legislation or organisational policy.
• This role is considered Key Personnel and requires meeting key suitability criteria and completing additional compliance measures as outlined by the ACQSC and/or NDIS.

Remuneration and Benefits:

• Sign-On Bonus: $2000
• Retention Bonuses: $27,500 paid in instalments over 24 months.
• Relocation Package: Up to $5000 available for those relocating to Thursday Island.
• Affordable onsite accommodation is available (no pets).
• Additional remote living and relocation benefits may apply through NFP salary packaging.
