Pinangba Services is seeking a permanent, full-time Residential Service Manager to join the team at Star of the Sea Elders Village on Thursday Island. This role offers a competitive salary, superannuation, and NFP salary packaging.

About the Opportunity

This position is a relocation opportunity to Thursday Island. Pinangba Services is looking for experienced facility managers to lead the Star of the Sea Elders Village. Pinangba is the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander service delivery arm of UnitingCare, built on cultural identity and strong community relationships. Star of the Sea Elders Village is situated on Thursday Island, offering residents opportunities to participate in cultural events and activities that respect traditional culture and knowledge. The role focuses on empowering Elders, improving health outcomes for Torres Strait Islander communities, and caring for the body, spirit, and community wellness.

About the Role

The Residential Service Manager will prioritise cultural knowledge and community connection. You will work with your front-line team to deliver outstanding, values-based, person-centred care to residents.

Key responsibilities include:

• Promoting a high standard of quality and compliance, ensuring the facility meets all regulatory requirements through best practice clinical care and audit activities.
• Ensuring strong financial sustainability by driving community engagement to support occupancy.
• Overseeing property maintenance, hospitality, and lifestyle programs.
• Leading a team of nurses, personal carers, and support staff, providing coaching and direction to enable their success.
• Encouraging creativity and enjoyment within the team while contributing to success.

Role Requirements

• A solid background in aged care, with leadership skills developed in growing and managing similar services focused on quality and person-centred care.
• Experience in mentorship and coaching of frontline leaders, resulting in strong service performance, sound quality outcomes, and care governance.
• Confidence in managing complex and conflicting priorities and pooling resources to meet deadlines.
• A Bachelor of Nursing, or equivalent qualification, OR solid experience in the management of a residential aged care or healthcare service.
• Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients and communities.
• Confidence in managing staff, conflict, pressures, and competing priorities.
• Ability to provide leadership, support, and mentorship to other team members.
• Must satisfy the relevant probity checks required by legislation or organisational policy.
• This role is considered Key Personnel and requires meeting key suitability criteria and completing additional compliance measures, in accordance with ACQSC and/or NDIS requirements.

Additional Benefits

• Sign-on bonus of $2000.
• Retention bonuses totalling $27,500, paid in instalments over 24 months.
• Relocation package up to $5000 for those needing to relocate to Thursday Island.

• Additional remote living and relocation benefits may apply through NFP salary packaging.
