Pinangba is the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander service delivery arm of UnitingCare, built on cultural identity and strong community relationships. The Star of the Sea Elders Village, situated on Thursday Island, offers residents a vibrant community life, with activities that respect and support traditional culture and knowledge. Our focus is on empowering Elders and improving health outcomes for Torres Strait Islander communities, caring for the body, spirit, and community wellness.

About the Role: This position prioritises cultural knowledge and community connection. You will work with your front-line team to deliver outstanding, values-based, person-centred care. You will promote high standards of quality and compliance, ensuring the facility meets all regulatory requirements through best practice clinical care and audit activities. Financial sustainability will be driven through community engagement to support occupancy, alongside oversight of property maintenance, hospitality, and lifestyle programs. Working closely with senior clinicians, you will lead a team of nurses, personal carers, and support staff, providing coaching and direction to foster their success. We encourage creativity and enjoyment within the team.

Role Requirements:

• A solid background in aged care, with leadership skills demonstrated in growing and developing similar services with a focus on quality and person-centred care.
• Proven mentorship and coaching of frontline leaders, resulting in strong service performance, sound quality outcomes, and care governance.
• Confidence in managing complex and conflicting priorities to meet deadlines.
• A Bachelor of Nursing, or equivalent qualification, OR solid experience in the management of a residential aged care or healthcare service.
• Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients and communities.
• Experience coordinating care provision within a large team.
• Confidence to manage staff, conflict, pressures, and competing priorities.
• Ability to provide leadership, support, and mentorship to other team members.
• Satisfy relevant probity checks required by legislation or organisational policy.
• This role is considered Key Personnel, requiring meeting key suitability criteria and completing additional compliance measures as outlined by the ACQSC and/or NDIS.

• Sign-on bonus of $2000.
• Retention bonuses totalling $27,500 paid in instalments over 24 months.
• Relocation package up to $5000 for those relocating to Thursday Island.

Remuneration: Competitive Salary + Super + NFP Salary Packaging.
