Risk Engineer - Marsh Pty Ltd

Marsh Risk Consulting is seeking an engineer or risk professional for its Property Risk Consulting team in Sydney, NSW. This full-time, hybrid role will engage with leading Australian organisations across manufacturing, mining, power generation, logistics, infrastructure, healthcare, education, and commercial property sectors.

As a trusted advisor, you will assist clients in identifying, assessing, and managing operational and property-related risks to enhance resilience, business continuity, and insurance outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct property risk assessments and engineering surveys across various industries.
  • Evaluate exposures related to fire, explosion, natural catastrophe, machinery breakdown, and business interruption.
  • Review facilities against recognised standards, including FM Global, NFPA, Australian Standards, and industry best practice.
  • Prepare technical reports, risk improvement recommendations, and client presentations.
  • Analyse loss scenarios, critical asset vulnerabilities, and operational risks.
  • Support clients in implementing practical risk mitigation and resilience strategies.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, insurers, brokers, and industry stakeholders.
  • Contribute to business development and support the growth of Marsh Risk Consulting.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in property risk engineering, loss prevention, industrial consulting, asset integrity, reliability engineering, or a related field.
  • A valid Driver's License is essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel for site-based assessments across Australia.

Considered an Advantage:

  • Experience within mining, energy, manufacturing, logistics, utilities, infrastructure, or heavy industry.
  • Knowledge of FM Data Sheets, NFPA standards, Australian Standards, or equivalent international codes.
  • Experience conducting technical audits, inspections, risk assessments, or engineering studies.
  • Understanding of business interruption, operational resilience, and enterprise risk management.
  • Consulting or client-facing experience.
