Catholic Education Western Australia Limited (CEWA) is seeking a School Support Accountant for a 12-month parental leave contract. CEWA is the second-largest education provider in Western Australia, supporting over 80,000 students across 162 schools. This is a full-time, onsite position based in West Leederville. The salary offered is $118,464 - $132,666 per annum, plus superannuation.
About the Role
As a School Support Accountant, you will work with a portfolio of schools, partnering with Principals and Finance Officers to ensure sound financial management, compliance, and long-term financial sustainability. You will offer financial guidance, performance insights, and strategic support to facilitate informed decision-making and positive outcomes for school communities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Providing financial advice and analysis to school leaders.
- Monitoring financial performance and compliance requirements.
- Supporting audit and reporting processes.
- Contributing to capital planning and major expenditure assessments.
- Building trusted stakeholder relationships across a portfolio of schools.
About You
The ideal candidate will be a CPA or CA qualified accountant (or possess equivalent qualifications) with substantial experience in financial and management accounting. You should have a capacity for building relationships, communicating financial information clearly, and collaborating with stakeholders to resolve issues and enhance outcomes. Experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, audit, and compliance will be highly regarded. Experience within education, not-for-profit, commercial, or public practice environments is advantageous but not essential.
