About Your Workplace
Miele’s Finance team is undergoing a significant transformation with the implementation of SAP S/4HANA. As a Senior Accountant on a fixed-term contract, you will be instrumental in maintaining business continuity, supporting core accounting functions, and contributing to system and process enhancements. This is a hands-on, dynamic role for an individual who thrives in change, enjoys problem-solving, and values cross-organisational collaboration.
Your Responsibilities
- Financial reporting: Support monthly and quarterly reporting, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow analysis.
- Month-end close: Perform reconciliations, accruals, and prepayments to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Audit & compliance: Assist with year-end statutory reporting, audit processes, and tax compliance activities.
- Inventory & fixed assets: Support accounting, controls, and reconciliations for inventory and fixed asset registers.
- Systems & ERP support: Contribute to SAP S/4HANA implementation activities, testing, and system improvements.
- Process improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes, controls, and reporting timelines.
- Business partnering: Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to provide insights and support decision-making.
What We Are Looking For
- Must-have:
- CA/CPA qualification with post-qualified experience in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of Australian and New Zealand accounting and tax requirements.
- Excellent analytical and reconciliation skills with high attention to detail.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Nice-to-have:
- Experience with large ERP systems (SAP, S/4HANA, AS400 or similar).
- Exposure to system implementations or transformation projects.
- Experience with inventory and fixed asset accounting.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong systems capability.
