About the Role: This position is ideal for an experienced public practice accountant who is passionate about tax and technical matters and aspires to be the primary expert supporting partners, managers, team members, and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical advice on tax and accounting matters, including:
- Business and tax structuring
- Trust taxation and distributions
- Division 7A, CGT, and small business concessions
- GST, FBT, payroll tax, and state-based taxes
- Tax planning
- Budgets and forecasting
- Financial analysis
- Prepare and review financial statements and tax returns.
- Review work before Partner sign-off and manage technical risk.
- Serve as the firm’s technical escalation point.
- Support advisory, restructuring, and ATO audit matters.
- Mentor staff and deliver internal technical training.
- Monitor legislative and ATO developments and communicate their impact firm-wide.
- Provide exceptional customer service via telephone, email, and meetings as required.
About You:
- More than 7 years of experience in Australian public practice.
- CA or CPA qualified; CTA is highly regarded.
- Advanced knowledge of Australian tax legislation and accounting standards.
- Strong analytical, technical, and communication skills.
- Ability to provide clear, practical, and defensible advice.
- Intelligent, motivated, curious, and a self-starter.
