RJS Accounting Services is a locally owned and operated, purpose-driven business that actively participates in the Buy1Give1 initiative. This role is a permanent, full-time position based in a modern office in Tewantin, QLD, offering river views.

About the Role

As a Senior Accountant, you will manage a diverse client portfolio, delivering high-quality compliance and advisory services within a collaborative and fast-paced setting. You will build and maintain long-standing client relationships and liaise with regulatory bodies, while managing multiple priorities.

Duties

• Manage a varied client portfolio covering compliance, advisory, and proactive client support.
• Prepare and review financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, individuals, and SMSFs.
• Oversee BAS/IAS, payroll tax, and ASIC compliance obligations.
• Liaise with the ATO and other regulatory bodies on client matters.
• Provide tax planning, cashflow, and business improvement advice to clients.
• Build, maintain, and strengthen long-term client relationships.
• Review the work of junior team members and provide guidance and feedback.

Skills & Experience

• Five to seven + years of experience in Australian accounting public practice.
• CA or CPA qualified, or near completion.
• Strong technical knowledge of Australian tax and compliance requirements, including GST, CGT, and Div 7A.
• High proficiency across MYOB, Xero, QuickBooks, BGL, and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage competing deadlines and work autonomously.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
