The Team
The Financial Control team ensures SEEK’s financial records and reports are timely, consistent, reliable, and accurate. Working closely with the Record to Report (R2R) team and other centres of expertise, the team manages the consolidation and reporting of the Group’s financial results, technical accounting, and the group’s financial audit. SEEK’s Finance team has transitioned from multiple country-specific finance teams to a single APAC team over the past two years, progressively implementing standardised, centralised processes. SEEK is also transitioning auditors in FY27.
Reporting to a Finance Manager – Financial Control, the Senior Accountant will be integral to the Group’s consolidation and statutory financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Consolidated Results Preparation:
- Import monthly results into the FCCS Consolidation tool for assigned SEEK Group entities (subsidiaries and/or associates).
- Prepare associated consolidation journals accurately and in a timely manner.
- Prepare and report on balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts and entities.
- Prepare and report on consolidated balance sheet and cash flow analytics.
- Support and ensure the accuracy of the Group’s intercompany processes.
- Resolve accounting and consolidation issues identified during the close process.
- Identify and implement process improvements (including AI-driven solutions) to enhance efficiency, controls, and scalability.
- Statutory Financial Reporting:
- Support the preparation of year-end consolidated financial statements.
- Prepare standalone statutory financial statements for assigned companies.
- Liaise with external auditors regarding financial statements.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiencies, controls, and scalability.
- Financial Control Activities:
- Monitor the preparation of subsidiaries’ balance sheet reconciliations and conduct periodic reviews.
- Assist with quality reviews of SEEK Group entities’ trial balances.
- Conduct periodic deep dives on specific balances to confirm compliance with Group policies.
- Ad Hoc Activities:
- Account for significant transactions (e.g., acquisitions, disposals).
- Perform and present technical accounting research.
- Assist with projects aimed at improving financial processes, policies, or controls.

Qualifications
Skills and Experience
- CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent) with at least 3 years of post-qualification experience.
- A background in a Big 4 accounting firm is preferred, with some additional hands-on industry experience.
- Experience preparing or auditing complex multi-currency consolidations.
- Experience preparing or auditing financial statements.
- Strong knowledge of AASB or IFRS accounting standards.
- Comfortable performing research to propose solutions for accounting treatment questions.
- Ability to synthesise complex accounting concepts and anticipate the downstream impacts of accounting decisions.
- A strong track record of effective collaboration with diverse teams, including those working remotely.
- Strong investigative and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong GPT prompting skills to achieve efficient outcomes.
- Experience with Oracle SmartView and Workday Financials is advantageous but not essential.
