Mayfair Marks is expanding and seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team. We operate from contemporary, state-of-the-art offices located in Surry Hills. The Role We are looking for an experienced Accountant with a minimum of 4+ years in public practice. You will be a professional, hands-on, and technically skilled accountant, comfortable interacting with clients and colleagues. You will take pride in your work and ownership of outcomes, delivering high-quality compliance and advisory services.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, and partnerships.
• Preparation and lodgement of BAS and IAS.
• Client liaison, relationship building, and portfolio management.
• Providing timely and value-adding tax and compliance advice to clients.
• Assisting with tax planning and advisory work.
• Supporting junior staff as required.
• Ensuring compliance with Australian tax legislation and accounting standards.

About You

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in public practice.
• Expertise in Australian taxation law and compliance.
• Proficiency in Xero (preferred), MYOB, or similar accounting software.
• Solid technical accounting and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong client communication and relationship management skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines and work autonomously.
• Commitment to business growth, professional development, and career development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• CA or CPA qualification (or nearing completion) is highly regarded.
