Michael Page is seeking a Senior Accountant for a full-time, onsite position in Melbourne VIC. The role offers a salary package of $140k - $160k.

This position involves leading the comprehensive delivery of property and urban development projects from inception to completion. Key responsibilities include managing feasibility studies, budgeting, stakeholder coordination, and ensuring the achievement of commercial and community objectives. The role requires a commercially astute professional capable of overseeing intricate projects, managing significant relationships, and driving negotiations and risk management throughout the entire development lifecycle.

The client is dedicated to delivering substantial property projects that generate enduring economic and community value. They are recognised for their collaborations with private and public stakeholders, playing a pivotal role in shaping key precincts and infrastructure-driven developments.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end execution of complex property and urban development projects from concept to finalisation.
• Prepare and manage feasibility studies, business cases, budgets, and financial models.
• Oversee procurement activities and manage external consultants, contractors, and advisors.
• Drive project timelines to ensure the attainment of critical milestones and delivery objectives.
• Manage commercial negotiations, including development agreements, partnerships, and stakeholder contracts.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks across the development lifecycle.
• Cultivate and maintain robust relationships with private sector and community stakeholders.
• Ensure projects adhere to regulatory, planning, and compliance mandates.
• Contribute to strategic planning and portfolio performance to optimise commercial and community outcomes.

Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate will possess:

• CA/CPA Qualification.
• Ideally, qualifications from a Public Practice background with experience gained within industry (sector flexibility exists).
• Strong commercial acumen, evidenced by experience in feasibility analysis, budgeting, and financial management.
• Experience navigating planning frameworks, approvals, and regulatory requirements.
• Proficient stakeholder management skills, with the capacity to engage with government, private sector, and community groups.
• Highly developed negotiation skills, particularly concerning development agreements and partnerships.
• Excellent problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to manage risk and drive results in complex environments.
• A proactive and organised approach, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and meet key deadlines.
