Senior Accountant - Contract

PERSOL is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant for an initial 3-month contract, with the possibility of extension. This onsite role is located near Moorabbin Airport. The position involves delivering accurate financial reporting, ensuring the integrity of financial transactions, and contributing to forecasting, budgeting, and statutory compliance. This is an opportunity for a finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced setting and enjoys collaborating with stakeholders across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- General Accounting
- Manage accruals, prepayments, and general ledger maintenance.
- Review Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations.
- Maintain the integrity of financial records and transactions.
- Financial Reporting
- Prepare accurate and timely management reports.
- Produce Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reporting.
- Meet corporate reporting deadlines.
- Forecasting & Budgeting
- Support quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting cycles.
- Manage SG&A reporting and financial consolidation.
- Prepare P&L, cashflow, and balance sheet reporting.
- Statutory Reporting
- Coordinate and manage company audit requirements.
- Assist with financial statements and tax reporting.
- Prepare BAS, Payroll Tax, FBT, and R&D tax requirements.
- Treasury & Projects
- Manage cashflow activities and supplier payments.
- Complete bank reconciliations and FX forecasting.
- Support finance projects as required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- A CPA or CA qualification.
- 6-8 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within an FMCG or food manufacturing environment, which would be highly desirable. The client is open to negotiating based on relevant experience and skill set.
- Experience within FMCG or food manufacturing environments is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
- High attention to detail with a structured approach.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Previous people leadership experience is advantageous.
