The Opportunity This role involves close collaboration with two hands-on Partners in Business Services, delivering tax compliance and advisory services. You will be supported and challenged to advance your career. The firm is an early adopter of technology and is currently undergoing an IT transformation, providing advanced tools for success.
What You'll Be Doing
- Manage your own portfolio of business services clients, serving as a primary point of contact.
- Prepare financial statements, reports, and tax returns for clients including high-net-worth individuals, companies, trusts, and partnerships, with autonomy and Partner support.
- Complete electronic workpapers to a high standard.
- Assist with business advisory, tax planning, and strategic insights for clients.
- Mentor junior staff where applicable.
About You Requirements:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar role within a comparable public practice accounting firm.
- Strong knowledge of Australian tax and accounting compliance.
- Familiarity with all aspects of taxation, including division 7A, capital gains tax, fringe benefits tax, goods and services tax, family trust elections, and interposed entity elections.
- Working knowledge of superannuation law.
- Extensive experience with XERO/MYOB/ACCESS Tax products, MAS/XERO financial reporting software, Business Fitness Electronic Workpapers, and document storage software such as FYI Docs/iManage/Workiro.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Excellent communication skills, a team player, and someone who thrives in a vibrant professional culture.
- Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, commerce, or finance.
- CA or CPA certified, or nearing completion.
