Senior Accountant - Public Practice
Charterhouse is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their full-time, hybrid team in Adelaide SA.
This firm, known for its strong presence in South Australia, delivers accounting, taxation, business advisory, and wealth management services to a varied clientele including SMEs, family groups, and high-net-worth individuals. The Role
This position offers an experienced Senior Accountant the chance to manage a diverse client portfolio, enhance advisory skills, and mentor junior staff. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a portfolio of business clients across various industries.
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals.
- Providing tax planning strategies and business advisory services to SME clients.
- Advising clients on complex taxation matters, such as Division 7A, CGT, trust distributions, and business structuring.
- Reviewing the work of Intermediate and Graduate Accountants, offering coaching and technical guidance.
- Developing strong client relationships and serving as a trusted adviser to business owners.
- Liaising directly with the Australian Taxation Office and other statutory authorities.
- Identifying opportunities to improve client outcomes and contribute to the firm's growth.
You will collaborate closely with experienced Managers and Partners, gaining exposure to advisory projects and strategic business discussions, while continuing to develop leadership capabilities.
About You
- CA or CPA qualified, or nearing completion.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in Australian public practice accounting.
- Strong technical knowledge in business services and taxation.
- Experience reviewing work and mentoring junior accountants.
- Excellent client relationship and communication skills.
- A commercial mindset with a genuine interest in advisory work.
- Motivated to progress into a leadership role while delivering exceptional client service.
