Senior Accountant / Team Lead
Bright Wealth Pty Ltd is seeking a Senior Accountant / Team Lead for a full-time, onsite role in Maroubra. The salary offered is $110,000 – $140,000 per year.

As our Tax & Accounting division expands, we are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant / Team Lead to join our high-performing team. About the Role The Senior Accountant / Team Lead will be responsible for managing a varied client portfolio and providing leadership and guidance to a team of accountants. You will collaborate with management to achieve excellent client outcomes, refine business processes, and support the firm's ongoing growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a diverse portfolio of business and individual clients across multiple industries.
- Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and strategic advice.
- Prepare, review, and oversee tax compliance, including income tax returns, BAS, IAS, and financial statements.
- Remain updated on changes in taxation legislation and provide advice to clients and team members.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accountants, fostering a positive and high-performing culture.
- Delegate and review work to ensure quality, efficiency, and adherence to deadlines.
- Assist clients with business planning, budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and growth strategies.
- Identify opportunities to improve internal systems, workflows, and client service delivery.
- Promote the adoption of technology, automation, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions within the practice.
- Support the onboarding and transition of new clients.
- Contribute to business development efforts and identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships.
- Participate in strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives across the firm.
About You To be successful in this position, you will possess:
- A minimum of 8 years' experience within an Australian Public Practice accounting firm.
- Demonstrated experience managing a client portfolio and leading a team.
- Strong technical knowledge of Australian taxation legislation and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
- A proactive mindset with the capacity to drive initiatives and implement change.
- A genuine passion for mentoring and developing others.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Experience with Xero, HandiSoft, and other accounting and taxation software.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- A high level of professionalism, integrity, and accountability.
