The Opportunity As a Senior Accountant or Assistant Manager, you will become a trusted adviser to clients while contributing to the future success of the team. You will work closely with Partners, providing strategic advice, identifying client opportunities, reviewing complex work, and mentoring developing accountants. This role, with its blend of client-facing responsibilities, technical expertise, and leadership exposure, provides an opportunity to broaden your impact and continue your career progression within a growing national firm.
Position Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Partners and team members to achieve exceptional client outcomes.
- Support the delivery of tax planning and advisory services to a diverse client portfolio.
- Mentor and develop junior team members, promoting a culture of continuous learning.
- Review and oversee the preparation of Financial Statements and Income Tax Returns for individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships, and SMSFs.
- Build and strengthen long-term client relationships through proactive advice and exceptional service.
- Review the preparation of BAS, IAS, FBT, CGT, and PAYG obligations across various client structures.
- Liaise with the ATO and other statutory authorities on behalf of clients.
- Participate in training sessions, technical workshops, team meetings, and social events.
- Contribute to the continued growth and success of the Sydney CBD office.
About You
- Minimum 5 years of experience within a Chartered Accounting Practice.
- CA qualified or currently undertaking the CA Program.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
- Strong technical accounting and taxation knowledge.
- Expertise in practice management platforms such as MYOB AE, APS, HowNow, Active Ledger, Xero, and QuickBooks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Passionate about building client relationships and delivering exceptional service.
