Cookson & Roberts is seeking a full-time, onsite Senior Civil Drafter for their Brisbane, QLD office.

This highly regarded Brisbane-based engineering consultancy specialises in delivering large-scale residential communities across Queensland. They have a strong pipeline of projects, including subdivisions ranging from 200 to 1,000+ lots, and are looking to expand their team. This role offers the chance to work on significant land development projects, collaborating with experienced engineers to produce construction-ready civil documentation from concept to completion.

The Opportunity As a Senior Civil Engineering Draftsperson, you will be integral to the technical delivery of residential subdivision projects. This involves preparing detailed drawings and coordinating design information across various civil infrastructure disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed civil drawings, plans, and documentation for residential subdivision and urban development projects.
• Develop drafting packages for drainage, stormwater, sewer, and water reticulation infrastructure.
• Produce road design documentation, including alignments, cross sections, and intersection layouts.
• Prepare documentation in accordance with Australian Standards, local authority requirements, and client specifications.
• Coordinate closely with engineers, surveyors, and external consultants to ensure accurate and efficient project delivery.
• Update drawings during the construction phase and assist with RFIs and design revisions.

What you'll bring

• A qualification in Engineering Drafting, Civil Design, or a related discipline.
• 4+ years' experience drafting civil infrastructure or land development projects.
• Strong proficiency in 12d Model and/or AutoCAD.
• A solid understanding of Queensland local authority standards and subdivision design requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-focused approach.
