Senior Drafter
Randstad - Construction, Property & Engineering is seeking a Senior Mechanical Revit Drafter for a full-time, onsite position in Parramatta. An excellent salary package is on offer.
Our client is a Tier-1 mechanical services and HVAC contractor with a history of delivering complex, iconic infrastructure, healthcare, and commercial data centre projects across Australia. They are recognised for their advanced prefabrication capabilities and end-to-end project delivery, with a commitment to engineering excellence from concept to site.
With a robust, multi-year pipeline of significant projects secured in NSW, they require a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Revit Drafter to join their accomplished detailing team. This role is focused on technical detailing and modelling, not high-level BIM strategy or coordination.
Reporting to the Drafting Manager, you will transform engineering concepts into precise, constructible, and fully coordinated 3D Revit models. You will act as the link between design and manufacturing, concentrating on HVAC ductwork, mechanical piping layout, and detailed plant room design.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce highly detailed, clash-free 3D models of mechanical services, including HVAC ductwork, acoustic treatments, chilled water, and condenser water piping systems, using Revit MEP.
- Generate accurate construction issue drawings, section details, and manufacturing-ready shop drawings/spool maps for prefabrication.
- Perform internal spatial clash detection and resolution to optimise systems for site installation, maintenance access, and structural constraints.
- Ensure all documentation complies with strict company presentation standards, client specifications, and relevant Australian Standards ($AS1668$ and $AS3666$).
- Collaborate with project engineers, site managers, and the workshop fabrication team to address constructability issues before manufacturing.
Who You Are
- Possess a minimum of 5-7+ years of dedicated drafting experience within the Australian building services sector.
- Demonstrate expert-level proficiency in Revit MEP.
- Have a deep, practical understanding of mechanical services installation, including ductwork assembly, pipe support, and plant room clearance requirements.
- Show a proven ability to deliver "buildable" models, with experience in modular/prefabricated plant design being highly desirable.
- Are strongly familiar with Navisworks (for self-clashing) and Bluebeam.
- Possess excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with internal project teams and workshop staff.
You will benefit from long-term job security due to a strong pipeline of landmark, Tier-1 projects. The role is situated in a modern, collaborative office environment with state-of-the-art technology and onsite parking. Clear career growth pathways into leadership or technical specialisations are available, supported by continuous training. You will join a supportive and driven team that values precision, celebrates collective achievements, and maintains a genuine work-life balance.
At Randstad, we are committed to providing equal employment opportunities and embracing diversity for the benefit of all. We actively encourage applications from all backgrounds.
