The Project Delivery Group (PDG) at Hatch is a team of professionals committed to world-class project delivery, specialising in sustainable studies, asset building and operations, and efficiency improvements.
Role Overview:
The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for delivering technically robust and innovative solutions for complex mining, energy, and infrastructure projects. This role involves applying extensive electrical engineering expertise to lead the development of high-quality designs and studies throughout a project's lifecycle, from concept and feasibility to detailed design, construction, and commissioning. This is an opportunity for a technically proficient engineer who enjoys hands-on delivery and influencing project outcomes. The Senior Electrical Engineer will be a key member of multidisciplinary teams, providing trusted technical input and mentoring junior engineers to foster capability and uphold Hatch's high engineering standards.
Key Focus Areas:
- Lead the development of electrical designs, studies, and calculations from concept through to detailed design.
- Provide technical oversight and guidance during engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
- Contribute to project estimates, schedules, and discipline inputs within multi-disciplinary teams.
- Support and participate in formal design and engineering review processes.
- Provide on-site technical support during construction and commissioning activities.
- Act as a technical mentor, coaching and supporting the development of junior engineers.
About You:
- Hold a degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Possess 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Ideally have CPEng accreditation or be working towards it.
- Demonstrate strong technical depth in power systems and electrical design within mining, energy, infrastructure, or similar heavy industry environments.
- Experience performing electrical studies, such as load flow, arc flash, and protection grading, using tools like ETAP, SKM PTW, or PowerCAD.
- Confidence in leading technical work, engaging with stakeholders, and clearly communicating complex information.
- A proactive approach to mentoring and developing others.
