About the Opportunity

As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of civil construction and maintenance projects across a rural road and stormwater network. This includes providing expert technical advice, overseeing project performance, and mentoring team members, all while contributing to the Council's broader objectives.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and manage civil construction and maintenance programs, ensuring they align with organisational objectives.
• Plan, direct, control, and evaluate operational activities and project delivery.
• Prepare specifications, estimates, and technical documentation for projects.
• Oversee minor and major projects, including the supervision of construction teams.
• Monitor project performance in terms of time, cost, and quality, and provide detailed reporting.
• Provide expert technical advice and contribute to policy and process development.
• Mentor engineers, technical staff, and trainees, fostering their capability and growth.
• Analyse and present project data to support informed decision-making.
• Drive innovation, continuous improvement, and the adoption of new practices.
• Deliver high-quality customer service and stakeholder engagement.

About You

You are an experienced and motivated engineering professional who excels at delivering complex infrastructure projects and leading teams.

Mandatory Requirements:

• Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering.
• RPEQ (or the ability to obtain RPEQ within 12 months).
• Extensive experience in civil construction and maintenance environments.
• Proven experience managing works programs and supervising teams.
• Strong technical, analytical, and reporting capability.
• White Card (or willingness to obtain).
• Current ‘C’ Class Driver Licence.

Desirable:

• Postgraduate qualification in Project Management.
• Traffic Management Design (TMD) qualification.
