Senior Finance Business Partner
AAR Consulting Group P/L is seeking a Senior Finance Business Partner for a contract role in Sydney, NSW. The remuneration for this position is between $1,000 and $1,120 per day, inclusive of superannuation. This is an onsite role.
Our client is a prominent NSW statutory body, acting as an electrical infrastructure planner and regulator. They are instrumental in leading the delivery of NSW’s initial five Renewable Energy Zones and the first two priority transmission infrastructure projects, operating as a Public-Private Partnership in conjunction with major infrastructure providers. These represent multi-billion dollar, multi-year programs of work, offering potential for a long-term contract.
Role Description: In a dynamic environment with diverse stakeholders, the Senior Finance Business Partner will be responsible for advancing strategic financial performance and influencing critical decisions through expert financial leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a variety of directors and managers to provide financial insights and achieve budget targets.
- Manage financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and management accounting activities.
- Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements, revenue generation, and cost optimisation.
- Develop and oversee financial controls, governance frameworks, and performance metrics.
- Mentor finance team members and contribute to capability development across the organisation.
- In addition to business-as-usual activities, manage several active major projects with strict deadlines, alongside EOFY preparations and upcoming audit requirements.
Skills and Experience:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting or finance, coupled with a current CA or CPA designation.
- Experience as a Senior Finance Business Partner.
- Some experience in financial operations within NSW government is advantageous.
- Excellent strategic planning and policy development skills.
- Demonstrated high-level interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with experience in liaison and negotiation at all levels with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Well-developed issues management skills, with the capacity to apply sound judgment and operate within tight deadlines to address sensitive and complex matters.
- Demonstrated experience and proficiency in using Excel for data analysis and template building, and ERP systems such as SAP.
- Proven ability to develop business cases, enhancement proposals, business plans, and briefs.
- Experience in project finance, cost accounting, and audit preparedness.
- Financial reporting experience.
