About the Role Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the Senior Financial Accountant will collaborate with the Finance leadership team. Key responsibilities include preparing monthly financial reports, executing end-of-month financial accounting procedures, and enhancing overall Finance processes within the Financial Accounting team.

This central role within the corporate accounting team supports the business in achieving excellence in customer service, innovation, and return on investment, contributing to our strategic objectives. The position is responsible for ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, preparing monthly and annual financial reports, and managing accounting records and other necessary information to enable senior management to make informed business decisions and improve profitability.

Furthermore, the role involves the continuous review and improvement of accounting processes. This includes managing interactions with other business areas and offshore outsourced teams to complete required workflows, identifying process improvements to increase team efficiency and effectiveness, and automating and integrating systems where feasible. The role will also encompass certain management accounting tasks, such as participating in budgeting and reporting activities when requested. Engagement with offshore resources and assisting with exception resolution will also be part of the responsibilities.

Skills and Experience

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• Formal qualifications in accounting are essential (e.g., a completed tertiary degree or equivalent).
• Completion of CA/CPA or an equivalent qualification.
• Experience in taxation-related areas, including FBT, Income Tax, GST, and Payroll Tax.
• Experience within the travel industry is desirable, but not essential.
• Intermediate level experience with the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Experience with SAP Business One and Tramada, or similar accounting packages, is desirable, but not essential.
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple concurrent tasks.
• Effective written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrated capacity to consistently deliver a high level of customer service and develop and maintain ongoing relationships with customers and colleagues.
