Chandler Macleod is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst/Senior Financial Business Partner on behalf of a leading Western Australian mining operation. This is a contract role with a potential view to permanency, offering a roster of 5 days on, 2 days off, 4 days on, 3 days off, with DIDO from Perth. The assignment duration is 3-6 months.
Our client requires an influential Senior Finance Business Partner to provide high-quality insights, maintain stringent cost control, and offer robust business partnering to a major mining site. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in an operational environment and can translate financial data into actionable strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes.
- Deliver accurate month-end cost and capital expenditure reporting, including clear variance analysis.
- Support and challenge operational leaders using data-driven advice.
- Enhance reporting standards and streamline operational workflows.
- Support capital pipeline management and governance.
- Produce weekly physical forecasts.
- Maintain strong internal controls, including SOX compliance.
- Develop financial models in Excel and SAP BPC, and support cost driver analysis.
- Develop KPIs and reporting with site leaders to foster a cost-conscious culture.
- Present monthly cost review insights to leadership.
Requirements:
- 3–5 years of experience within the mining industry, with site exposure being ideal.
- A degree in Accounting or Finance, coupled with a CPA, CA, or CMA qualification.
- A strong background in management accounting.
- Advanced Excel skills, including proficiency in modelling and analytics.
- Essential experience with SAP and SAP BPC.
- Experience with Xeras is highly regarded.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, demonstrating confidence, collaboration, and influence.
- The ability to simplify complex financial data and communicate it clearly.
- A proactive mindset, with a willingness to speak up, solve problems, and drive improvements.
Desirable:
- Experience with Power BI.
- Exposure to additional mining systems.
- Experience in improving reporting processes or building new analytical tools.
