Stantec Australia Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Fire Engineer Lead to join its Melbourne Buildings team. This is a full-time role based in Melbourne, VIC, with a remote work arrangement. The position offers a Great Salary + Benefits + Genuine Flex Working.

This role combines technical expertise with business development and client engagement, working closely with the Brisbane Fire team and supported by the wider Australian Fire team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving project success, expanding client relationships, and identifying new business opportunities across a diverse portfolio of building projects. Success in this role hinges on the ability to lead both technically and commercially.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare drawings and calculations to support design concepts, determining compliance with the Building Code of Australia's performance requirements.
• Deliver technically sound and innovative designs, reports, and specifications for sectors including health, defence, high-rise, industrial, and education.
• Prepare Fire Engineering Briefs (FEB) and/or Fire Engineering Brief Questionnaires (FEBQ).
• Develop solutions through to the final Fire Engineering Report (FER).
• Liaise with local authorities, clients, and the consultant team.
• Attend project meetings.
• Drive business development initiatives, identifying and pursuing new project opportunities and nurturing long-term client partnerships.
• Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For:

• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or equivalent.
• Accreditation in Victoria (Certifier - Fire Safety).
• Proven experience in a design consultancy environment, with a track record of client engagement and project leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at varying stages of delivery.
• A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a passion for building client relationships and growing business pipelines.
• Technical expertise in fire safety design, analysis, and risk assessment.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• A collaborative, can-do attitude and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
