Senior Fire Protection Engineer
AECOM Australia PTY LTD is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to join their national Building Engineering team in Brisbane, QLD. This is a full-time, hybrid role with a Competitive Base + Super + Leave Options salary.

About the Role Due to recent project wins, the National Fire Protection Team is expanding and requires a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to provide technical fire protection design services on a variety of projects. This role is based in Brisbane.
How you’ll make a difference:
- Actively participate in all phases of fire protection project design and delivery, from concept through to construction and commissioning, ensuring high-quality solutions across diverse sectors.
- Design and implement fire hydrant and hose reel systems, automatic fire sprinkler systems, alternative fire suppression systems, gas suppression, fire detection, and evacuation systems, ensuring full compliance with Australian Standards.
- Collaborate with engineers from various disciplines on large, multi-disciplinary projects to develop integrated fire protection solutions for major clients.
- Ensure all fire protection designs meet the National Construction Code (NCC), Australian Standards, local authority regulations, and major client standards and guidelines, maintaining the highest safety and compliance standards.
- Utilise expertise in wet and dry fire protection systems to mentor junior engineers and drive technical excellence across a range of projects.

- Ideally, 5+ years’ experience as a Fire Protection Engineer for an Engineering Consultancy (or contractor with extensive design experience).
- Experience in Dry Fire will be highly regarded.
- Relevant degree and holding professional registrations (or eligible to hold), including RPEQ.
- Understanding of Fire Suppression Systems & Design, Firefighting systems including Fire Hydrants, Hose Reels, Portable Fire Equipment and fire water supply infrastructure.
- Understanding of Fire Detection & Alarm Systems & Design, Emergency Warning & Intercom Systems and High-Level Networking Infrastructure will be highly regarded.
- Track record in engineering design and consulting on medium to large scale projects across a variety of projects.
- Exposure to industry standard software such as Hyena and Revizto with exposure to Revit (preferred).
- Due to the nature of the projects, Australian Citizenship is highly preferred.
