Senior Fire Services Designer/Design Manager

Allegiance Fire Services is seeking a Senior Fire Services Designer/Design Manager to lead our design function. We are a growing fire protection contractor delivering high-quality wet and dry fire services across commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, and government projects. This full-time, onsite position in Sydney NSW offers a salary of $150,000 – $180,000 per year.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will take ownership of the company's fire services design function. Your role will involve delivering compliant, practical, and buildable solutions from concept through to construction.

Responsibilities:

• Design of wet and dry fire systems in accordance with Australian Standards and NCC requirements.
• Preparation of detailed AutoCAD and Revit models.
• Hydraulic calculations for sprinkler and hydrant systems.
• Production of construction drawings, installation drawings, and fabrication details.
• Preparation of cut sheets, equipment schedules, and design documentation.
• Coordination with Project Managers, Engineers, consultants, and clients.
• Attendance at design coordination meetings across our project portfolio.
• Management and review of external design subcontractors.
• Providing technical support to project delivery teams.
• Identifying opportunities to improve design standards, workflows, and quality systems.
• Developing and leading the company's long-term design capability.

About You

You will be a highly capable designer who enjoys solving technical problems while also seeing the bigger picture.

Ideally, you will have:

• Extensive experience designing wet and dry fire systems.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Experience using Revit (or willingness to further develop advanced skills).
• Sound understanding of hydraulic calculations.
• Thorough knowledge of Australian Standards including AS 2118, AS 2419, AS 1670, and related fire protection standards.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills.
• The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• A proactive mindset with strong attention to detail.
• Previous experience leading designers or managing external consultants will be highly regarded.
