This is a permanent, full-time position at our highly automated beverage and food manufacturing site in Dandenong South.
The Role
Reporting to the National Reliability Manager, the Senior Maintenance Engineer is responsible for overseeing daily maintenance activities to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production equipment at the Dandenong South site. This role provides structural support to the Maintenance Manager and contributes to maintaining the performance of facilities services, processing, filling, and packing equipment within a highly automated beverage and food manufacturing environment.
This position is required to implement planned and reactive maintenance, support service delivery, and assist in sustaining equipment availability to meet compliance and operational requirements.
What You'll Be Doing
- Maintenance Strategy & Scheduling: Develop, implement, and track preventative and predictive maintenance programs to reduce downtime.
- Team Leadership: Hire, train, supervise, and assign tasks to maintenance technicians and staff.
- Operations & Repairs: Oversee all maintenance operations, including troubleshooting, repairing malfunctioning equipment, and managing CapEx projects.
- Health, Safety, & Compliance: Ensure compliance with all occupational health and safety (OHS) regulations, including conducting audits and following legal standards.
- Budget & Cost Management: Estimate repair costs, manage maintenance budgets, and oversee the procurement of spare parts and inventory.
- Contractor Management: Coordinate and supervise external contractors and subcontractors for specialised repairs.
- System Management (CMMS): Utilise Analytical CMMS (MEX) to track work orders and equipment history and asset management. Develop SOPs and educate the maintenance personnel to upskill the team.

Required Experience and Attributes
Your previous experience and qualifications will include:
- Trade or engineering qualification with a minimum of five years’ maintenance experience in a food, beverage, or FMCG manufacturing environment.
- Broad technical understanding, including facilities, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Excellent understanding of contractor management safety, AS standards and facilities compliance.
- Ability to work autonomously, prioritise tasks, and contribute effectively within a team environment.
- Proficiency in computer maintenance management systems CMMS (MEX or Maximo).
- Demonstrated experience managing a high-volume maintenance workload and allocating appropriate resources.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to support ongoing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Effective organisational skills and the ability to coordinate work within a team setting.
- Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices and maintaining quality standards.
- Experience with Krones blow moulders and fillers (highly regarded).
- Experience with Alfa Laval and Tetra Pak process equipment (highly regarded).
