Senior Management Accountant
Catholic Homes is seeking a full-time Senior Management Accountant to join its Finance team. This onsite role will be based in Burswood.
In this key position, you will provide support for the operational financial management of Catholic Homes and contribute to strategic initiatives, reporting to the Head of Finance & Reporting (HOFR). Your responsibilities will include overseeing accounting operations to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial reporting, aligning with the organisation's values of care and support.
Key Accountabilities:
- Assist in the preparation of statutory financial statements and manage external audit processes to meet regulatory requirements.
- Oversee financial record-keeping operations, ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of all financial transactions, including debtors and creditors.
- Regularly reconcile balance sheet accounts and produce accurate financial reports for all operational departments to maintain financial integrity.
- Prepare ILV financial statements and generate quarterly reports for each ILV, ensuring precise cost allocation to each village.
- Collaborate with various operational departments to deliver precise financial insights and support strategic initiatives.
- Ensure the timely fulfilment of financial reporting obligations to funding bodies and maintain adherence to relevant legislation and internal policies.
Selection Criteria:
To be considered for this position, you will demonstrate:
- A relevant Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent on-the-job experience.
- Proven experience in a financial management role, preferably within the aged care or healthcare sector.
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
- The ability to develop business relationships with external and internal stakeholders, authorities, organisations, and individuals.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to build relationships across the organisation.
- A high level of computer accuracy.
- Understanding and knowledge of the aged care (residential, retirement, and community-based care) and associated industries is highly desirable.
