- Partner with mine operations, processing, exploration, maintenance, and corporate teams to enhance cost visibility, financial discipline, and commercial decision-making.
- Manage capital project reporting, encompassing approvals, commitments, spend tracking, depreciation, project close-out, and post-completion analysis.
- Support statutory reporting, audit preparation, internal controls, delegation of authority compliance, and adherence to relevant accounting standards.
- Maintain and improve financial reporting models, ERP processes, dashboards, and management information to boost accuracy, efficiency, and insight.
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis, business case support, and commercial advice for operational initiatives, contract reviews, and improvement projects.
- Mentor and support finance team members, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, continuous improvement, and service to the business.
What we're looking for:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in management accounting, cost accounting, financial analysis, or a similar commercial finance role.
- Experience in mining, resources, mining services, construction, heavy industry, or a comparable operational environment is preferred.
- A strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, cost control, capital reporting, and month-end close processes.
- Sound knowledge of Australian accounting standards, internal controls, and audit requirements.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience using ERP systems; exposure to SAP, Power BI, Pronto, or similar systems is advantageous.
- The ability to interpret operational data and translate financial information into practical commercial insights for non-finance stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the capacity to prepare concise reports and present financial information clearly.
- High attention to detail, strong analytical capability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
