We seek individuals passionate about sports technology.

Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Product Manager to spearhead our next generation hardware/firmware initiatives within our core 'on-field' technology platform. This includes wearable devices, docks, portable and fixed live capture infrastructure, all supported by a sophisticated IoT platform.

Based in Melbourne, reporting to the Director of Product for On-Field monitoring, you will hold end-to-end ownership of hardware/firmware products. This involves translating customer insights and data into a clear roadmap, sharp prioritisation, and well-defined requirements, guiding our hardware/firmware products from ideation to general availability. You will represent the customer in all decisions, working collaboratively with engineering, industrial design, manufacturing partners, and fellow Product Managers to deliver products that surpass customer expectations.

This position is for a technically adept product leader with genuine hardware/firmware product development experience and a proven ability to bring complex electronics and connected-device products to market. You will need to engage credibly across the hardware and firmware stack, navigate manufacturing and production realities, and uphold the data quality our customers depend on.

Responsibilities:

  • Assume single point of product accountability for the 'on-field' hardware and firmware domain.
  • Act as the voice of the customer by mapping customer journeys, analysing competitor offerings, and identifying unmet market needs.
  • Provide strategic vision and direction to your team and other stakeholders for the ongoing innovation and evolution of our hardware products.
  • Translate customer challenges and product objectives into precise specifications for engineering teams.
  • Define, monitor, and act upon metrics that demonstrate product success during development and in the field.
  • Collaborate closely with hardware and firmware engineering, industrial design, and QA to manage technical trade-offs and maintain development momentum.
  • Work directly with manufacturing and supply-chain partners to ensure production readiness, advocating for cost-effectiveness, reliability, and serviceability throughout each product's lifecycle.
  • Lead hardware field testing, beta deployments, and general availability launches, integrating real-world feedback into product enhancements.
  • Partner with engineers and third-party collaborators on research and development into emerging technologies, focusing on the user value they unlock.
  • Liaise with our R&D Sports Science team to ensure product testing and validation processes meet the highest standards.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 years in product management, with at least 3 years dedicated to bringing complex hardware or connected-device products from concept to launch.
  • Demonstrated strong project management experience involving multiple stakeholders across different time zones.
  • Ability to engage credibly with hardware and firmware engineers, understand technical trade-offs, and effectively challenge assumptions.
  • Profound customer empathy and a proven history of leading customer discovery processes.
  • A data-driven approach to decision-making, with the ability to illustrate an understanding of impact measurement.
  • Exceptional communication skills, enabling clear understanding and articulation of complex technical concepts.
  • Capacity for autonomous work and self-motivation, coupled with high intellectual curiosity.
  • A results-oriented mindset with a bias for action.
  • Experience in sports technology, wearables, or connected device ecosystems is highly desirable.
  • Experience with GPS, Local Positioning System (LPS), ultra-wideband, or Bluetooth technologies is desirable.

Success Metrics (Within 6 Months):

  • Establishment of a regular product operating rhythm, encompassing roadmap reviews, customer feedback mechanisms, product health metrics, and cross-functional prioritisation processes.
  • Identification and prioritisation of the most impactful opportunities to enhance product quality, reliability, customer adoption, and operational scalability.
