Senior Project Manager – City of Prospect

LG Talent is seeking a Senior Project Manager for a full-time, onsite position with the City of Prospect. This role offers a salary of $127,000 – $134,000 per annum, with Superannuation and flexible working conditions.

The City of Prospect is a dynamic inner metropolitan Council recognised for its tree-lined streets, creative atmosphere, and neighbourly spirit. The community benefits from parks, playgrounds, community facilities, and a well-maintained network of roads, footpaths, and stormwater systems. Significant future projects include the Prospect Lifestyle Precinct, substantial street and park upgrades, stormwater system enhancements, and new sporting facilities.

As a vital member of the City Works and Presentation Department, the Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the proficient project management of a variety of new and existing assets, encompassing civil infrastructure, council buildings, and open spaces. This position will offer professional leadership and end-to-end project management, covering investigation, design, planning, contractor oversight, and budget administration.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the delivery of all civil and asset projects.
• Liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
• Managing procurement, contractors, and ensuring compliance.
• Conducting effective and timely community engagement.
• Preparing and overseeing annual budgets and project cost management.
• Providing high-level advice and reporting on all civil and asset projects.
• Contributing to the development of improved civil and asset systems and frameworks.

Essential requirements for this role include proven experience in the project management of civil infrastructure and assets within local government or a comparable sector. Experience in design standards, contractor management, cost estimation, and compliance is also essential, complemented by tertiary qualifications in engineering or a related field. Critical to this position are demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, time management, and decision-making skills.

Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with others are essential, alongside excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
