About the Role
BDO Australia is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant for its expanding Business Services team in Perth, WA. This full-time, onsite role involves contributing to high-quality compliance and advisory services for a varied client base, including SMEs, small businesses, high net worth individuals, and investment companies and trusts. You will develop your technical capabilities and advance your career within a supportive, high-performing setting. This position offers close collaboration with Partners and Directors, exposure to complex matters, and the opportunity to manage your own clients, contributing to impactful client outcomes.
The ideal candidate is a motivated, detail-oriented professional ready for career progression. Support will be provided for your continued development in technical, business development, and people capabilities to facilitate success within the firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare a range of complex financial statements in accordance with regulatory, accounting, and financial reporting standards.
- Prepare clear and concise work papers and review the work papers of junior staff.
- Supervise junior staff on certain jobs, as appropriate.
- Perform tax planning for clients.
- Prepare tax returns for all entities.
- Prepare Business Activity Statements.
- Manage quarterly and annual tax compliance matters.
- Prepare advice for clients regarding business operations and regulatory matters.
- Undertake general business administration.
About You
- CA or CPA Qualification.
- 3-5 years of Business Services/Tax experience; mid-tier experience is desirable.
- Client focused, with a strong commitment to quality service and client relationships.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to establish professional relations with internal and external clients.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to multitask and effectively manage individual and team workflow.
- Self-motivated, taking responsibility for personal and professional development.
- Team player, committed to supporting team members.
- Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to work.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook (including Copilot).
- Workday is desired.
- Xero is desired.
