We are seeking a commercially focused Senior Tax Accountant to join our Finance team. This role will be instrumental in supporting tax compliance, reporting, governance, and process enhancement initiatives. This is a comprehensive corporate tax position offering the chance to collaborate closely with the Tax Manager and senior finance leaders, contribute to strategic projects, and drive continuous improvement within a global organisation. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and lodge Activity Statements with the Australian Taxation Office.
- Prepare income tax and Fringe Benefits Tax returns, along with supporting schedules.
- Ensure the timely settlement of all tax obligations.
- Prepare monthly income tax provisions and tax reconciliations.
- Assist with statutory reporting, including the preparation of tax disclosures.
- Support audits and reviews conducted by the Australian Taxation Office and relevant State Revenue Authorities.
- Assist with reporting requirements to the overseas parent company.
- Support the business's transfer pricing obligations.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors on tax-related matters.
- Support the continuous improvement of tax processes, controls, and governance.
- Assist with tax advice and the implementation of legislative changes.
What We Are Looking For:
- A CA or CPA qualification is essential.
- Demonstrated experience in Australian tax accounting and tax compliance.
- A minimum of 5 years of overall finance experience, including exposure to Australian tax responsibilities.
- A strong understanding of Australian tax compliance requirements, encompassing areas such as activity statements, income tax, and fringe benefits tax.
- Experience within an in-house or commercial environment will be highly regarded.
- Candidates from public practice or audit backgrounds may be considered if they possess relevant tax experience.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and confidence in handling detailed financial data.
- Experience with SAP and MS Dynamics is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail, sound judgement, and the ability to work independently within a small team.
- Clear communication skills and a willingness to learn, collaborate, and assume ownership of a specialist portfolio.
