SMSF Taxation Accountant

East West Accounting is seeking a full-time SMSF Taxation Accountant to join our team in Yandina. This onsite position offers a salary of $80,000 – $95,000 per year.

About the Role As a Taxation Accountant with a specialisation in Self-Managed Super Funds (SMSFs), you will deliver expert tax advisory and compliance services to a varied clientele. Your role will be integral to assisting clients in meeting their taxation obligations and optimising their tax efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Preparation and lodging of income tax returns for SMSFs, individuals, partnerships, trusts, and companies.
• Providing strategic tax planning advice to clients aimed at minimising their tax liabilities.
• Liaising with the Australian Taxation Office and other regulatory bodies on behalf of clients.
• Educating clients on tax legislation changes and their business implications.

Requirements:

• A degree in Accounting or an equivalent qualification with a taxation focus.
• Membership with an Accounting Body, holding a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), or Institute of Public Accountant (IPA) qualification.
• A minimum of 3-4 years of experience in a dedicated tax accounting role, with a focus on SMSFs.
• In-depth understanding of Australian tax legislation and compliance.
• Proficiency in SMSF software, specifically BGL360, is essential.
• Proficiency with Access software packages including Handitax, Handiledger, and Time and Billing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify tax optimisation strategies.
• Excellent communication and client relationship management abilities.
• Capacity to work autonomously and as part of a collaborative team.
