Standalone Payroll Officer

Sharp & Carter Accounting Clerical Sydney is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer for a full-time, onsite position in Sydney NSW. This role offers a salary of $90,000 - $100,000 plus Super.

Our client, a well-recognised retail company, requires an experienced payroll professional to manage their payroll function independently. Previous experience in a standalone payroll role is preferred, along with demonstrated end-to-end payroll processing capabilities within the retail sector.

Responsibilities:

• Processing payroll for approximately 250 full-time, part-time, and casual staff.
• Managing new starters and terminations.
• Interpreting retail and clerical awards.
• Processing annual leave, sick leave, and adjustments.
• Performing monthly payroll reconciliations, including payroll journals and GL reconciliations.
• Handling payroll queries.
• Undertaking other ad hoc duties as required.

Requirements:

• Proven end-to-end payroll experience within the retail industry, preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work within a team-based environment.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise urgent work.
• Analytical skills and an ability to think outside the box.
