Northrop Consulting Engineers Pty Ltd is seeking a Structural Engineer for a full-time, hybrid role based at our Sydney and Parramatta offices.

You will join a professional and collaborative team of engineers, designers, drafters, graduates, and undergraduates, contributing to a diverse range of projects within the built environment. With a strong pipeline of upcoming work from new and existing clients, you will lead projects with the support of a close-knit management team. This client-facing role offers the autonomy to lead projects from concept to construction and manage technical delivery, with the necessary support to ensure your success.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing technical delivery for a wide array of structural projects, including commercial buildings, residential developments, fit-outs, aged care, and educational facilities.
• Collaborating closely with a diverse client base, responding efficiently to their needs, and attending meetings and site inspections.
• Assisting with project costings, monitoring project performance and budgets to ensure key dates are met and projects remain within budget.
• Mentoring graduates and undergraduates.
• Contributing to the technical development of the structural section.
• Developing skills in business development, including proposal preparation.

What You Bring

• Ideally 2-5 years of experience working as a structural engineering consultant in the Australian market.
• A tertiary qualification in Engineering.
• Knowledge of ETABS, RC Building, RAPT, and SpaceGass is highly valued.
• Experience delivering projects across various structure types within the residential, health, education, commercial, and industrial sectors.
• Accountability to set goals and drive their fulfilment, with the ability to keep the team motivated.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• A strong team ethic for collaborative work across functional groups.
• Familiarity with financial management of projects internally is highly valued.
