Support Worker - Community - Granville

Claro Disability Services is seeking a casual Support Worker to join our team in Granville. This is an onsite role.

The Opportunity

This role offers the chance to work with individuals facing significant real-world challenges, encompassing mobility, medical care, daily routines, communication, and engaging activities. Each client presents a unique situation, requiring you to customise support based on their individual goals, preferences, routines, values, and cultural background. You will collaborate closely with families, medical professionals, and fellow support workers to ensure seamless service delivery. Shifts are flexible and designed around your day, fostering genuine relationships built on understanding and connection.

Key Responsibilities

  • Person-Centred Planning: Engage with clients and their support networks to gain a comprehensive understanding of their needs, goals, and routines.
  • Social Engagement and Participation: Facilitate meaningful experiences, enjoyment, and community access aligned with client interests.
  • Autonomy and Advocacy: Support client decision-making, respect consent, and promote independence.
  • Cultural Humility: Demonstrate respect for diverse backgrounds, beliefs, and ways of life.

Who We Are Looking For

  • A person-centred, warm, patient, and genuinely caring individual.
  • An interest or experience in complex care, disability, and health considerations.
  • A strong communicator, adept at active listening, interpreting cues, and adapting communication styles.
  • Reliable and professional, with proficient notetaking skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Flexible and adaptable, comfortable with evolving needs and shift requirements.

  • Optional but desirable: Training in manual handling, epilepsy management, or disability support.
