Supported Independent Living (SIL) Practice Leader

Australian Mentoring Services (AMS) is seeking a SIL Practice Leader in Wollongong. This is a full-time, onsite position.

Are you an experienced disability leader ready to make a real impact? AMS is expanding in Wollongong and is looking for a confident and capable SIL Practice Leader with significant experience supporting participants with complex Autism (ASD) and psychosocial disability. This role involves hands-on leadership, not solely desk-based work, where your expertise will directly shape lives.

The Opportunity

You will be responsible for the daily operations of Supported Independent Living homes, ensuring safe, consistent, and high-quality support for participants with complex behavioural and psychosocial presentations. Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and developing mentors across multiple homes.
• Implementing and reviewing behaviour support strategies.
• Driving compliance with NDIS Practice Standards.
• Collaborating closely with families, clinicians, and stakeholders.
• Championing a strong, accountable, positive team culture.

What You Bring

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in SIL or complex NDIS settings.
• A strong background supporting complex ASD and psychosocial disability.
• Leadership experience in supervising and developing teams.
• Solid knowledge of behaviour support frameworks.
• A Cert IV or higher qualification in Disability, Mental Health, or Community Services.
• A driver’s licence and the ability to travel locally.
