About the Role
Reporting directly to the CFO, the Corporate Tax Accountant will be integral to managing tax compliance across a complex, multi-entity structure. This role also involves contributing to the tax aspects of M&A transactions and broader group strategy, offering exposure to senior leadership and involvement in high-impact commercial decision-making.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparation and review of income tax returns, tax provisions, and reconciliations across the group.
- Delivery of consolidated tax reporting and support for group-level financial reporting obligations.
- Management of indirect tax compliance (BAS, FBT, payroll tax) across multiple jurisdictions.
- Support for the preparation of transfer pricing documentation and related-party reviews.
- Partnership with external advisors and internal stakeholders on tax compliance and planning.
- Provision of commercial tax advice on strategic initiatives, including M&A transactions, capital investments, and group restructures.
- Identification of opportunities for process improvement, risk mitigation, and value creation through tax.
About You
You are a detail-oriented and technically proficient tax professional who excels in a fast-paced, commercially driven environment. You possess the confidence to engage with senior stakeholders and enjoy applying your tax knowledge to business strategy, particularly concerning M&A and structural change.
You will ideally bring:
- A degree in accounting, commerce, or a related discipline.
- CA/CPA qualification (or working towards one).
- Solid experience in corporate tax, gained either in-house or in public practice (Big 4 experience is highly regarded).
- Strong working knowledge of Australian tax law and compliance requirements.
- Exposure to M&A or corporate structuring is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
