About The Role We are seeking a full-time tax accountant to join our expanding Corporate Tax team. This role involves providing advice to clients on corporate and international tax matters across industries including resources, construction, and technology. Expertise areas cover tax compliance, tax effect, cross-border matters for overseas corporates expanding into Australia, DTA work, startups, structuring, and corporate tax advice such as Employee Share Schemes. This is an opportunity to broaden your skill base and find variety in your work with a firm focused technically as tax specialists. Working one-on-one with a Director, this role offers personal and technical development and the chance to deliver a broad range of tax advisory services to diverse clients.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Participate in tax planning and consulting for clients, from fast-growing early-stage businesses to large private groups and public companies, both national and international.
- Involvement in M&A, group restructures, and dealings with the ATO on corporate tax implications.
- Prepare and review corporate tax returns, year-end tax accounting and provision work, FBT returns, and BAS.
- Assist with webinar and seminar preparation as required.
- Present technical issues at client meetings.
- Encourage continuous improvement through team training and personal technical development.
- Take ownership of assigned engagements from commencement to completion.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Commerce / Business or Law Degree.
- CA Qualified or equivalent.
- Ideally at least 2 - 3 years’ Corporate Tax experience in corporate tax compliance and advisory.
- Ideally currently in public practice.
- Proficient in written and verbal communication; English must be your first language.
- An aptitude for tax law.
- A positive can-do attitude and attention to detail are essential.
