As we continue to expand, we are seeking a Taxation & Compliance Accountant to join our Finance team. This role requires a detail-driven and commercially minded individual.
About the Role Reporting to the Finance Manager, this position is responsible for maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of financial and taxation processes for the BBD Group. Key contributions will include statutory reporting, tax compliance, audit coordination, and financial reporting, alongside driving continuous improvement in finance processes. This is a significant role offering insight into both operational finance and strategic compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of general ledger transactions and financial reporting for assigned entities.
- Prepare and submit statutory returns and regulatory reports in accordance with legislative requirements.
- Deliver timely and accurate month-end and Board reporting.
- Manage Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) returns and associated compliance processes.
- Prepare R&D tax incentive claims in conjunction with external advisors.
- Perform and review tax effect accounting calculations.
- Manage lease accounting across the Group.
- Lead EOFY audit processes and support income tax return preparation.
- Support and enhance the organisation’s tax governance framework.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within finance systems and processes.
About You You are an organised and detail-oriented accounting professional who excels in a compliance-focused environment. You possess a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement, coupled with strong technical accounting skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Accounting.
- 3–5 years’ experience in a comparable taxation/compliance accounting role.
- A strong understanding of Australian tax and statutory reporting requirements.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Advanced computer literacy, including ERP/accounting systems and Excel.
- A results-driven mindset with a commercial and strategic focus.
