Caring Support (NSW) Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Team Leader to join a dedicated and compassionate team focused on promoting inclusion, independence, and the overall wellbeing of clients and staff. This role is pivotal in enhancing service quality, strengthening team capability, and driving best practice outcomes.

About the Role

As a House Team Leader within the Supported Independent Living (SIL) setting, you will provide strong, values-driven leadership to a dedicated team. Your focus will be on fostering a safe, supportive, and empowering home environment for participants and staff. The role requires a balance of direct participant support and administrative responsibilities, including accurate documentation, effective stakeholder communication, and coordinating medical appointments for participants as required.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building strong, respectful relationships with participants, families, and stakeholders.
  • Adhering to NDIS legislation, policies, and procedures to ensure appropriate health, safety, and wellbeing in the workplace.
  • Implementing and reviewing care plans, routines, task lists, and 1:1 supports that are person-centred and goal-focused.
  • Supervising and mentoring SIL staff day-to-day, including buddy shifts and on-the-job coaching/supervision.
  • Responding to staff enquiries and maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation.
  • Promoting independence, capacity building, social inclusion, and participant choice in all aspects of daily life.

Requirements

  • Qualifications and/or substantial experience in disability SIL homes.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting people with disability in SIL, group homes.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to set the tone, model best practice, and lead a team.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with participants, families, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to plan, delegate, prioritise, and stay organised in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Experience with behaviours of concern, including complex or high-care needs, incident response, and complaint management.
  • Solid computer skills (Office365 – Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, rostering/care systems).
  • Current driver’s license.
  • Ability to participate in an afterhours rotating roster.
  • Sound knowledge of NDIS Practice Standards, rights-based approaches, and person-centred service delivery.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly in documentation, reporting, and task follow-through.
  • A genuine commitment to learning, feedback, and continuous improvement.
