Job Description

Technical Engineer - Building Products

Sipo Building Solutions Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Technical Engineer - Building Products for a full-time, onsite role in Rydalmere. This position is central to maintaining the technical integrity and driving the continuous improvement of our high-performance building systems, including Walsc AAC Panel Systems.

This role is for an engineer who excels in a technical setting and is keen on the convergence of product innovation, regulatory requirements, and practical construction application. You will be our primary subject matter expert, overseeing product development lifecycles, managing the intricacies of the National Construction Code (NCC), and ensuring our offerings establish a benchmark for safety and performance within the Australian and New Zealand markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Development & Innovation: Lead the research, development, and refinement of our building systems. You will translate market demands into technical realities through hands-on prototyping and validation.
  • NCC Compliance Authority: Serve as the primary technical authority for NCC compliance. You will be responsible for ensuring our systems remain at the forefront of building safety, particularly concerning fire safety and structural performance.
  • Testing & Certification: Manage the complete process of product testing and certification, handling technical data and compliance documentation to ensure complete reliability.
  • Critical Technical Support: Provide advanced engineering support to architects, structural engineers, and builders. You will be the expert consulted for resolving complex design challenges and project-specific integrations.
  • Site Inspections & Troubleshooting: Conduct on-site inspections to deliver critical technical support to installers, ensuring the integrity of our building solutions during the installation phase.
  • Technical Liaison: Act as the technical intermediary between our operations team and clients, ensuring all supplied components and technical specifications align with project requirements.

About You

  • Engineering Qualification: A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline, is required.
  • Regulatory Expertise: Possess in-depth, working knowledge of the National Construction Code (NCC) and relevant Australian Standards, with a specific focus on fire safety and structural performance.
  • Technical Background: Have demonstrated experience in building material testing, product development, or structural design within the Australian construction industry.
  • Practical Problem-Solving: Exhibit a proven capacity to translate complex engineering data into practical, on-site solutions. You are equally comfortable in a laboratory/office environment as you are on a building site.
  • Communication: Demonstrate an exceptional ability to document technical findings, prepare engineering reports, and build trust with a range of stakeholders, including design teams and regulatory bodies.

Why Join Us?

  • Direct Impact: Your technical insights will directly influence our product development. Your contributions will be highly visible to leadership and are fundamental to our business success.
  • Technical Excellence: We value engineering integrity, regulatory rigor, and quality over administrative processes.
  • Professional Growth: Gain comprehensive, end-to-end exposure to the entire lifecycle of building systems, from initial testing and certification through to final project deployment.
  • Collaborative Culture: Become part of a focused, expert team dedicated to advancing building performance.

How to Apply

If you are an engineer with a passion for building systems, compliance, and product innovation, and you seek a role where your expertise makes a tangible difference, we encourage you to apply.

Please submit your resume and a cover letter detailing your experience with NCC compliance, testing/certification, and technical site support via the "Apply" button on SEEK.

We look forward to reviewing your application and discussing how your engineering expertise can contribute to our ongoing product development and technical standards.
